PRODUCTION "IN VITRO OF EMBRYOS (PIVE)
The production
"in vitro" of embryos (PIVE) involves the steps of harvesting
(follicular puncture), maturation (IVM) and fertilization (IVF)
of oocytes and culture (IVC) of zygotes and embryonic structures.
1. Maturation in vitro (IVM) is a step by
which the oocyte acquires the competence to fertilize and embryonic
development.
2. Fertilization in vitro (IVF): is the stage
where the sperm are added to the oocytes, with advance preparation,
making them able to penetrate the oocyte and initiate the fusion
of gametes (male and female).
3. Cultivation in vitro "(CIV) is the
stage where the zygotes are developing, completing successive divisions
(in stages of Morulas, early blastocysts, blastocysts and expanded
blastocysts), which occurs around the seventh day after fertilization,
until the transfer of embryos.
